About Grace
Grace Blackburn graduated from The Art Institute of California - San Diego in 2006 with a B.S. in Interactive Media Design and was honored with the Outstanding Student Award from her graduating class. Throughout college, she worked as a production assistant at a small North County web firm, Batiz.com, and was later promoted to Web Designer. After graduation, she worked for an interactive marketing and advertising company, Aviatech, as a contract Interactive Media Designer, later hired on as a full time Interactive Designer/Developer. She is currently the Senior Interactive Developer at Aviatech and works closely with both the Creative and IT departments. When she can, she also provides freelance web design/development/animation services to small businesses in the North County area. She believes in simple, straight-forward applications designed to work with the user, not against them. Assisting local companies in finding the right web solutions is her way of pursuing that.
Although the industry proves to be very demanding and fast-paced, Grace enjoys her career and finds it to be very rewarding. She finds herself in a great learning environment, and enjoyable social environment, where she can take the initiative to pick up something new every so often. In 2008, Grace was married on June 22nd to her boyfriend of 6 years and their current goal is to purchase their first home, which is quickly becoming a reality. She also loves to travel and exercise, when possible.
